Srinagar, Feb 16, KNT: The University of Kashmir has made it mandatory for all teaching and non-teaching employees to obtain prior written approval from the competent authority before applying for any post outside the University.

According to a circular issued by the Administration Teaching Section, it has been observed that employees have been submitting applications for external posts without seeking prior permission and later requesting forwarding of their applications through proper channel.

The University has clarified that such practice does not conform to established rules and administrative procedures. It stated that prior approval from the employer is compulsory before applying for any post outside the institution, whether the application is submitted online or offline.

The circular further stipulates that mere forwarding of applications after submission will not be treated as valid permission and will not be entertained in future. The directive has been issued to ensure administrative discipline, procedural compliance and institutional accountability

All Deans, Heads of Departments, Directors and officers have been directed to circulate the circular among staff under their control for strict compliance.

The order has been issued electronically and does not require a physical signature. [KNT]
