Omar Abdullah Reaffirms NC’s Resolve to Reverse August 5 Changes
Srinagar, August 5, KNT: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday reaffirmed that reversing the constitutional and administrative changes carried out in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, remains the National Conference’s principal political objective, renewing the party’s stand on the sixth anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370.
Omar said neither he nor his party had reconciled with the constitutional changes introduced in 2019 and would continue pursuing their reversal through democratic and constitutional means.
The Chief Minister’s remarks came amid the National Conference’s observance of August 5 as “Black Day”, protests by INDIA bloc and National Conference Members of Parliament in New Delhi demanding restoration of full statehood, and renewed calls by the party for restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s constitutional rights.
