Over 11.39 Lakh KCCs Issued, ₹10,290 Crore Disbursed Till Dec 2025 in J&K
Srinagar, Feb 15, KNT: As many as 11.39 lakh Kisan Credit Cards have been issued across Jammu and Kashmir, including 8.78 lakh to crop farmers and 2.61 lakh to beneficiaries associated with the Animal Husbandry sector, official data reveals.
According to figures available up to December 2025, loans amounting to ₹10,290 crore have been extended under the Kisan Credit Card scheme, aimed at strengthening credit support to farmers and allied sector participants.
Officials said the credit coverage has significantly expanded access to institutional finance for agricultural activities, enabling farmers to meet input costs, purchase seeds and fertilizers, and invest in farm mechanisation. The extension of KCC facilities to the Animal Husbandry sector has also provided working capital for livestock rearing, dairy, and related activities.
The scheme continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and affordable credit to farmers, reducing dependence on informal lending channels. [KNT]
