Police Officer Allegedly Shoots Wife Dead After Domestic Dispute in Kupwara

Kupwara, May 16, KNT: A police officer allegedly shot his wife dead following a domestic dispute during the night in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials and reports said.

Reports said the incident took place at a police camp in the Kandi area, where the Police Sub-Inspector, identified as Deep Singh, was posted.

According to reports, an altercation allegedly broke out between the officer and his wife during the night, following which he allegedly opened fire, resulting in her on-the-spot death.

The officer also sustained injuries during the incident and was subsequently shifted to hospital for treatment, reports said.

Sources said he was admitted to a military hospital, where his condition was being monitored.

Reports further claimed that the officer was an ex-Army personnel who had later joined the police department.
