Srinagar, Aug 1, KNT: In view of continuous heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions, authorities have ordered the closure of all government and private schools across Doda, Kishtwar, and Ramban districts on Saturday.

The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff amid persistent rainfall, with the region witnessing an increased threat of landslides, shooting stones, and road blockades.

The School Education Department has directed all educational institutions to conduct online classes to ensure that academic activities continue without disruption.

Meanwhile, the administration has advised people to avoid unnecessary travel and remain vigilant, particularly in vulnerable areas prone to landslides and shooting stones, until weather conditions improve. [KNT]
