Security Preparedness Intensifies Ahead of July 3 Amarnath Yatra

Jammu, May 29, KNT: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Joginder Singh on Friday reviewed security arrangements at the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp as preparations for the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra gathered pace ahead of its scheduled commencement on July 3.

The visit comes amid ongoing efforts by security and civil authorities to ensure smooth conduct of the pilgrimage, which draws thousands of devotees every year.

During the inspection, the SSP assessed security measures and held discussions with officers regarding the overall security strategy for the yatra.

Officials of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the administration were also present during the review.

Joginder Singh directed concerned officials to ensure timely completion of all arrangements aimed at safeguarding pilgrims and facilitating their movement and stay at the base camp.

Authorities are undertaking preparations at multiple levels as part of security and logistical planning for the pilgrimage season beginning in July.  [KNT]
