Shopian, Sep 22, KNT: The Principal District and Sessions Court Shopian on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh in a 2019 murder case.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Shopian Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary pronounced the judgment in Case FIR No. 19/2019, registered under Sections 341, 147, 148, 307, 302, 109, 506 and 34 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
The court convicted Bilal Ahmad Seh, son of Abdul Ahad Seh of Urpora Nagbal, in connection with the case and awarded him life imprisonment along with the fine.
The prosecution was conducted by Public Prosecutor Farooq Ahmad Shagoo.
The case dates back to April 2019, when Rural Development Department employee Adfar Rashid Parra alias Kamal was stabbed to death at Urpora in Shopian following an altercation.
With the pronouncement of the judgment, the trial in the case has concluded. [KNT]
