Six Family Members Injured as Car Skids Off Road on Mughal Road Near Dubjan
Shopian, June 5, KNT: Six members of a family, including children, were injured after a car skidded off the road and rolled down a slope near Dubjan on the Mughal Road in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.
Officials said the accident occurred in the jurisdiction of Police Station Heerpora when a Swift car bearing registration number JK11D-4114, travelling from Rajouri towards Shopian, met with an accident after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle was being driven by Sunil Sharma, who also sustained injuries in the accident.
The injured passengers have been identified as Rajesh Kumar, son of Ramesh Kumar; Pallavi Chandan, wife of Rajesh Kumar; Aarav Kumar, son of Rajesh Kumar; Prachi, daughter of Rajesh Kumar; and Dua Kumar, son of Vijay Kumar. All the injured are residents of Rajouri.
Following the accident, rescue teams and local authorities rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Shopian for treatment.
Hospital sources said all the injured were admitted for medical care, while their condition was being assessed by doctors.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further proceedings are underway.
The Mughal Road, which connects Shopian in Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu, witnesses increased traffic movement during the summer season after reopening for vehicular traffic. [KNT]
