Jammu, July 27, KNT: The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) remained closed on Monday following a landslide at Dewal in Udhampur district, with restoration work underway to clear the debris and restore traffic.

Traffic authorities said the highway has not yet been declared safe for vehicular movement due to the apprehension of fresh landslides and shooting stones in the affected stretch.

Commuters have been advised to avoid travelling on the highway until the road is officially declared safe and reopened for traffic.

Authorities also urged the public not to pay heed to rumours regarding the highway status and to rely only on official traffic updates for authentic information. [KNT]
