Body of Missing Shopian Youth Recovered From Veshu Nallah

Shopian, June 22, KNT: The body of a 23-year-old youth, who had been missing from his home in south Kashmir’s Shopian district for nearly two weeks, was recovered from Veshu Nallah in the Reshi Nagar area on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Imran Ahmad Doie, son of Mohammad Aslam Doie, a resident of Adabal Sedow, Shopian.

According to official sources, Imran had been missing from his home since June 10. Family members had reported that he was suffering from mental health issues.

Officials said local residents spotted the body in Veshu Nallah at Reshi Nagar on Monday and subsequently informed the authorities.

Police teams reached the spot and shifted the body for medico-legal formalities.

The circumstances surrounding the death are being ascertained, while police have initiated the necessary legal proceedings. [KNT]
