Traffic Cop Killed After Truck Hits Him Near Qazigund Bridge
Kulgam, Sep 19, KNT: A Traffic Police Head Constable was killed after being struck by a truck near Shampora Bridge in the Qazigund area of Kulgam district on Saturday morning, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Mushtaq Ahmad, son of Abdul Sabir Bhat, a resident of Kulpora, officials said.
According to officials, the incident occurred when a truck bearing registration number JK03Q-9011 lost control near Shampora Bridge and hit the traffic policeman, leaving him seriously injured. He succumbed to his injuries at the spot.
Police have seized the truck and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the collision, while efforts are underway to trace the driver, who was reported to have fled from the spot, officials said.
