Aircraft-Shaped Balloon Marked ‘PIA’ Found in Rajouri, Seized by Police

Rajouri, Mar 3, KNT: An aircraft-shaped balloon bearing the inscription “PIA” was recovered from an area falling under Police Post Teryath in Rajouri district on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from security agencies.

According to officials, the balloon was noticed by locals in a hilly patch, following which the police were informed. A team from the local police unit reached the spot and took the object into possession for examination.

Rajouri Police said that upon inspection, no electrical or electronic components were found affixed to the balloon. Officials confirmed that the object appeared to be a harmless inflatable item shaped like an aircraft.

Security personnel maintained heightened vigilance in the area as a precautionary measure. However, authorities stated that there was no cause for alarm and the situation remained normal.

Police have urged inhabitants to promptly report any unidentified or suspicious objects to the nearest police station to ensure timely verification and public safety. [KNT]
