Seven CRPF Personnel, Policeman Hospitalized After Bunker Vehicle Rolls Down Road in Shopian
Shopian, July 27, KNT: Eight security personnel, including seven Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and a Jammu and Kashmir Police official, were injured after a BP bunker vehicle of the 178 Battalion CRPF rolled down from the road near the Watchi Police Post in the Zainapora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
Officials said the accident occurred on the Watchi main road when the CRPF bunker vehicle lost control and rolled down the roadside.
All the injured personnel were immediately rescued and shifted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Zainapora for treatment.
The injured have been identified as Inspector Shivandher Tripathi, Sub-Inspector Rakesh Kumar, Head Constable (GD) K.M. Deepak, Constable T.N. Hakib, Constable Dulal Sana, Constable Papu Ram and Constable (Driver) Kunal Sah, all of the 178 Battalion CRPF. The injured police official has been identified as Selection Grade Constable Fayaz Ahmad Khan of Police Post Watchi, Zainapora.
Officials said all the injured personnel are undergoing treatment, while the cause of the accident is being ascertained. [KNT]
