Pakistan has proposed a two-stage plan to end the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, with both sides currently considering the framework, according to a Reuters report.
The proposal comes amid escalating hostilities and growing concerns over disruption to global oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route handling a significant share of the world’s energy transit.
According to the report, Pakistan has shared the plan with Iran and the United States, with diplomatic contacts ongoing to secure a ceasefire and broader settlement. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei acknowledged the efforts, stating that Tehran is reviewing proposals while prioritizing its security amid continued attacks.
Trump Facing Political and Legal Challenges in the United States
Former US President Donald Trump is currently navigating multiple political and legal challenges, including ongoing court cases and investigations that have kept him at the center of national attention.
The developments come amid a highly polarized political environment, with Trump remaining a key figure in US politics while also addressing legal proceedings related to various allegations. These cases have influenced public discourse and campaign dynamics ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.
Despite the challenges, Trump continues to maintain a strong political base, with supporters viewing the cases as politically motivated, while critics argue that the legal process reflects accountability under the law.
The proposed framework includes an immediate ceasefire and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, followed by a 15 to 20-day window to negotiate a comprehensive agreement. The understanding is expected to be formalized through a memorandum facilitated by Pakistan as a communication channel between the sides.
However, a senior Iranian official indicated that Tehran would not agree to reopening the strait as part of a temporary ceasefire and would not accept imposed deadlines while reviewing the proposal.

The report also said that discussions have involved Pakistan’s military leadership engaging with senior US and Iranian officials, with efforts focused on bridging deep mistrust between the parties.
The diplomatic initiative comes as violence intensifies, with strikes reported on key Iranian sites, including a university and an industrial facility, resulting in casualties.
The conflict, which began in late February, has led to significant loss of life and displacement in the region, while raising fears of broader instability affecting global energy markets and regional security.
