Mirwaiz Visits Rashid’s Critically Ill Father at SMHS, Calls for Humanitarian Relief

Srinagar, April 16, KNT: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday urged the government to allow jailed Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid to meet his critically ill father on humanitarian grounds.

The appeal came after Mirwaiz visited Rashid’s father, Khazir Mohammad Sheikh, at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar, where he is undergoing treatment.

Mirwaiz said the ailing father was longing to see his son, describing the situation as deeply distressing for the family.

He said the suffering of families of detained individuals is “heartbreaking” and called for compassion in such cases.

Mirwaiz also prayed for the recovery of Khazir Mohammad Sheikh. [KNT]
