
Jammu, April 21, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Tuesday announced the Class 10 Annual Regular Examination 2026 results for the Jammu Division, recording an overall pass percentage of 88.85 percent.
Out of 50,754 students who appeared in the examination, 45,094 qualified while 5,650 students were declared unsuccessful, according to official data.
Girls outperformed boys in the results, registering a pass percentage of 90.42 percent compared to 87.51 percent among boys. A total of 23,268 girls appeared in the exam, of whom 21,040 qualified, while 27,486 boys appeared with 24,054 clearing the examination.
Subject-wise performance remained strong, with English recording a 94 percent pass rate out of 56,754 students who appeared. Mathematics saw a 93 percent pass percentage among 50,726 candidates, while Hindi recorded 94 percent from 37,275 students.
Urdu also registered a 90 percent pass rate, while Science and Social Studies recorded 94 percent and 96 percent pass percentages respectively, indicating consistent performance across core subjects.
Among additional and vocational subjects, several courses recorded exceptionally high success rates. Subjects such as Retail, Dogri, Sanskrit, Punjabi, Arts and Drawing, and Home Science reported 100 percent pass percentages, while Electronics, Plumbing, Computer Science, and Apparel-related courses also showed pass rates above 95 percent.
The grading distribution shows that 7,858 students secured A1 grade, while 9,287 students obtained A2. A total of 9,822 students fell in the B1 category and 9,680 in B2. Meanwhile, 7,017 students secured C1 grade and 1,422 were placed in C2, with only eight students in grade D.
Officials reported eight cases under unfair means (UFM), while two examinations were cancelled. Additionally, 27 subjects were cancelled, and some results were kept under dispute eligibility or result later on (RLO) categories.
As per the board’s qualifying criteria, students must secure passing grades across all compulsory subjects, with grades awarded on a nine-point scale ranging from A1 to E2. Candidates obtaining lower grades such as E1 or E2 will be required to improve performance in subsequent examinations. [KNT]
