Faz Lul Haseeb Reviews LED Street Light Stock, Stresses Quality Compliance Under SLMP
Srinagar, Feb 18, KNT: Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Faz Lul Haseeb, on Wednesday conducted a detailed inspection of the EESL lights godown to review the quality and stock position of LED street lights being installed across the city under the Street Lighting Management Programme.
Accompanied by the Executive Engineer (Electric) and senior officials of the SMC Electrical Wing, the Commissioner examined the technical specifications, storage conditions and inventory records of the lighting material. The inspection focused on ensuring adherence to approved standards and maintaining accountability in procurement and distribution.
During the visit, the Commissioner emphasized the need for strict quality control measures, directing officers to ensure that all LED lights conform to prescribed technical parameters to deliver optimal illumination, enhance public safety and ensure long-term durability.
He also instructed the concerned officials to maintain updated stock registers and implement effective monitoring systems to prevent discrepancies and ensure transparency in installation processes.
The inspection forms part of SMC’s broader efforts to strengthen urban infrastructure, promote energy-efficient solutions and improve civic amenities within Srinagar municipal limits under the ongoing street lighting programme. [KNT]
