Srinagar, June 12, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday revoked the suspension of Balbir Kumar, the former Chief Education Officer (CEO) Bandipora, who had been placed under suspension earlier this year over allegations of misconduct and unacceptable behavior with higher authorities.

According to a government order issued by the School Education Department, the suspension has been withdrawn with immediate effect following a review of the facts and circumstances of the case.

Balbir Kumar had been suspended in February 2026 and attached with the Directorate of School Education Kashmir pending further consideration of the matter.

The latest order states that the competent authority took a lenient view after examining the case and decided to revoke the suspension.

Following his reinstatement, Kumar has been posted and adjusted in the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Jammu, against an available vacancy with immediate effect.

The order was issued by Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department, Ram Niwas Sharma.

The development marks the end of nearly four months of suspension proceedings against the senior education officer. [KNT]
