Srinagar, Aug 14, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced the Chief Minister’s Digital Internship Programme 2026, a six-month paid initiative aimed at providing technology students with hands-on experience in government technology projects and creating a pathway for young digital talent to work on real-world governance challenges.

The programme is being executed by the J&K e-Governance Agency and the first batch will offer eligible students from BE/BTech, MTech, MCA and MSc Computer Science backgrounds an opportunity to gain practical exposure to GovTech, cybersecurity and digital services.

According to the programme details released by the government, selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000 during the six-month internship.

The programme will also provide mentorship from leading experts, allowing participating students to gain practical guidance while working on government technology initiatives.

Top-performing projects will receive recognition through a certificate signed by the Chief Minister, along with a “Best Intern Initiative Award”.

The initiative has been designed around three broad areas of practical exposure, mentorship and recognition, with the government positioning it as an effort to connect local technical talent with real-world governance requirements.

The first batch of the programme is being presented as an investment in young technical professionals and in building a stronger digital ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir. [KNT]
