Kishtwar: Hideout Busted in Chhatroo Sector, Arms and Explosives Recovered

Kishtwar, May 1, KNT: Security forces on Friday busted a militant hideout and recovered arms and explosives in the Chhatroo sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.

The recovery was made in the Dharbi Bajmandoo forest area of Sigdi Bhata during an ongoing search operation that has been underway since March 31 across areas including Dolgam, Janseer, and Kandwar.

The operation was carried out jointly by Army’s 11 Rashtriya Rifles and the Special Operations Group Kishtwar.

Officials said the recovered items include a carbine gun with magazine, a pistol with magazine, under-barrel grenade launcher ammunition, four electric detonators, and approximately one kilogram of explosive substance.

In addition, 97 rounds of 9mm ammunition and 18 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition were seized along with communication equipment, including one Kenwood radio set and two Motorola radio sets.

A sling and a pull-through were also among the items recovered from the hideout.

Search operations in the area were continuing, and a formal case has been registered in this regard.  [KNT]
