Anantnag, August 5, KNT: A court in Anantnag has convicted the manager of a hotel in Pahalgam for failing to comply with mandatory reporting requirements relating to the stay of foreign nationals.

The Additional Mobile Magistrate convicted Mohan Lal, manager of Hotel Misty Mountain at Movera, in connection with a case registered at Police Station Pahalgam under the Immigration & Foreigners Act, 2025.

According to the prosecution, the case stemmed from the failure to upload the mandatory Form C in respect of two Thai nationals who stayed at the hotel on December 1 and 2 last year, as required under the law governing the reporting of foreign visitors.

The court sentenced the hotel manager to one day’s imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹50,000.

Form C is a statutory document that hotels, guest houses and other accommodation providers are required to submit online to inform the authorities about the stay of foreign nationals at their establishments. [KNT]
