Anantnag, April 21, KNT: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure on Tuesday conducted a ground review of security arrangements along the Pahalgam Yatra route, with a focus on strengthening safety measures for pilgrims and tourists.
The inspection comes at a time when security in key tourist zones remains under close watch, with authorities emphasizing preparedness and coordination on high-footfall routes.
During the visit, the SSP assessed deployment at critical نقاط along the route and interacted with officers on duty to evaluate readiness and response mechanisms.
He directed field officers to ensure seamless movement of visitors while maintaining strict vigilance, particularly in sensitive stretches.
Nagpure stressed the need for enhanced coordination between different agencies involved in managing the Yatra and tourist flow, calling for real-time communication and quick response capability.
He also underlined the importance of maintaining a people-friendly approach, instructing personnel to assist visitors while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Officials said the review focused on both security preparedness and logistical arrangements to handle increasing tourist movement in the area.
Reaffirming the commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police, the SSP said the force remains focused on ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all visitors.
He added that police will continue to work in coordination with the civil administration and other stakeholders to maintain order and safety across the Pahalgam route. [KNT]
