Srinagar, August 5, KNT: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday strongly condemned remarks made by Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh against party president Mehbooba Mufti, describing his statement as “irresponsible” and “inflammatory.”
In a statement, the PDP objected to Singh referring to Mehbooba Mufti as a “terrorist”, saying such language was unbecoming of a Union Minister and inconsistent with democratic values.
The party said political differences should be addressed through debate and dialogue rather than personal attacks and alleged that the remarks sought to lower the standard of public discourse.
The PDP urged political leaders to exercise restraint in public statements and maintain the dignity of democratic institutions. [KNT]
