Trump calls on Iranian security forces to lay down arms, offers immunity
Urges Iranian diplomats to seek asylum amid call for political change

US President Donald J. Trump has called on members of Iran’s security forces to lay down their weapons and support what he described as a movement by the Iranian people to reclaim their country, warning that those who continue fighting could face certain death.
In a statement released by the White House and shared on YouTube, Trump appealed directly to members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the military and the police to abandon their positions and side with the Iranian population.
“I’m once again calling on all members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the military, and the police to lay down their arms,” Trump said in the message.
He warned that security personnel who continue fighting risk being killed as tensions intensify.
“They are only going to be killed. And now is the time to stand up for the Iranian people and help take back your country,” he said.
Trump also said the United States was prepared to offer immunity to Iranian security personnel who decide to abandon their roles.
“Accept immunity; we will give you immunity… or you will face absolutely guaranteed death,” he said in the message.
The US president further urged Iranian diplomats stationed around the world to seek asylum and cooperate with Washington in shaping what he described as a new future for Iran.
“We also urge Iranian diplomats around the world to request asylum and to help us shape a new and better Iran with great potential,” Trump said.
He added that the United States would ensure that any future leadership in Iran does not threaten American interests or neighbouring countries.
“The United States will ensure that whoever leads the country next, Iran will not threaten America or its neighbours,” he said.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East and growing confrontation involving Iran and regional actors.
