Srinagar, July 4, KNT: In a major relief for air travellers, Srinagar Airport on Saturday announced that the previously proposed plan for complete runway closure on Mondays and Tuesdays has been withdrawn, allowing flight operations to continue daily despite the ongoing runway maintenance works.

According to an official notice issued by the airport authorities, the runway and airfield will not be fully closed this year. Instead, flight operations will continue every day between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, while runway maintenance will be carried out during the night hours until October 2026.

The airport authorities said the earlier Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), which proposed complete runway closures on Mondays and Tuesdays, has been withdrawn following the revised operational plan.

Airlines have been advised to operate their services in accordance with the revised airport timings and update their schedules accordingly.

Passengers have been urged to check the latest flight status with their respective airlines before leaving for the airport and to rely only on information issued through official sources.

The revised schedule is expected to minimise disruption to passenger movement while allowing the Airports Authority of India to undertake the planned runway maintenance works. [KNT]
