Srinagar, April 3, KNT: Students of Delhi Public School Srinagar have brought laurels to the institution by securing top honours at the Senior National Women’s Pencak Silat League held in Shillong, Meghalaya, officials said.
The championship, conducted at the SAI Training Centre, NEHU Campus from March 25 to 27, witnessed participation from athletes across the country competing at the national level.
Hurriya, a Class XII student, clinched the gold medal, while Samma secured the silver, marking a significant achievement for the school in martial arts.
The success is notable as it highlights the growing presence of Kashmiri students in national-level sporting events and reflects sustained efforts in training and preparation.
School authorities said the students displayed strong technical skills and composure during the competition, following months of rigorous training.

Principal Shafaq Afshan said the achievement was a matter of pride for the institution.
“Their success reflects dedication and perseverance and serves as an inspiration for other students,” she said.
Chairman Vijay Dhar said the school remains committed to supporting young talent and encouraging participation in national competitions.
