Security Mock Drill Conducted at Srinagar Railway Station
Srinagar, August 4, KNT: A joint mock drill involving multiple security agencies was conducted at Srinagar Railway Station on Tuesday to assess preparedness and strengthen the response mechanism against potential security threats.
The exercise was carried out under the supervision of SDPO Railway Srinagar, Showket Ahmad, and witnessed the participation of personnel from the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), Police Station Nowgam and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
During the drill, the deployed personnel were briefed on security preparedness, emergency response protocols and their respective duties and responsibilities in the event of any potential security threat.
As part of the exercise, personnel deployed at guard points, railway platforms and other vital installations carried out physical drills, while the Quick Response Team (QRT) also underwent operational briefing and field exercises to assess its readiness.
Officials said the mock drill formed part of routine security preparedness measures aimed at strengthening the overall security framework at Srinagar Railway Station.
The exercise concluded peacefully without any disruption to railway operations. [KNT]
