Srinagar, June 6, KNT: National Conference chief spokesperson and MLA Tanvir Sadiq on Saturday launched a fresh attack on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), accusing it of undermining political efforts aimed at securing the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The remarks came after PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, during her recent visit to AIIMS Awantipora, allegedly mocked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the presence of officials and authorities overseeing the prestigious healthcare project. The episode triggered a political controversy, with National Conference leaders accusing the PDP of using a public development platform for political point-scoring.

In a social media post, Sadiq said the PDP had emerged in the aftermath of the autonomy resolution passed by the Assembly and alleged that the party was once again resurfacing at a politically convenient moment when National Conference legislators were preparing to go to Delhi to fight democratically for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

“The pattern is clear. Some masks never change. A wolf in sheep’s clothing remains a wolf,” Sadiq wrote. [KNT]
