Anantnag, June 13, KNT: Three minor girls from the Nunwani area of Brakpora in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district remained untraceable on Saturday, more than a day after they were reported missing, prompting an intensified search operation by police and local residents.

The girls were last seen on Friday evening and have not returned home since, triggering concern among their families and the wider community.

Police teams, assisted by local volunteers, continued extensive searches across the area while gathering information and examining possible leads to trace the missing children.

The disappearance of the three girls has created anxiety in the locality, with relatives anxiously awaiting any breakthrough in the case.

Reports said the area from where the girls disappeared is located close to forested terrain, adding to the anxiety of family members and residents. While there is no official confirmation regarding any specific circumstance behind their disappearance, locals expressed concern that the possibility of an encounter with wild animals cannot be ruled out given the proximity of the area to the forest belt.

Police sources said extensive efforts are underway to trace the missing children, with search teams combing the area and pursuing all possible leads. Local volunteers have also joined the operation as authorities race against time to locate the girls safely.

Authorities said efforts are underway on multiple fronts to locate the children and appealed to the public to share any information that could assist in tracing them. [KNT]

Updated: All the three girls were traced by police from Cafeteria Park in Achabal Anantnag much to the relief of their families.
