Jammu, Sep 15, KNT: Jammu Police intercepted a passenger bus at Greater Kailash Naka and seized 20 bags of paneer suspected to be adulterated, officials said.

The bus, bearing registration number JK02CE-4300, was intercepted during checking within the jurisdiction of Police Station Gangyal, following which the suspected dairy product was found being transported in the vehicle.

Police informed the Food Safety Department and called its officials to Police Station Gangyal for further action.

The recovered paneer was subsequently handed over to the Food Safety Department for examination and sampling. Further proceedings will be initiated by the concerned department under the applicable legal provisions based on the examination and sampling.

The seizure comes as authorities continue checks on the transportation and sale of food products to ensure compliance with food-safety regulations.

Police said further action in the matter would be taken by the concerned department in accordance with law. [KNT]
