Toronto police arrest Sri Lankan influencer on harassment charges
Four incidents of non-consensual filming cited across city

Toronto, Feb 8, KNT: Toronto Police have arrested a Sri Lankan influencer and charged him with four counts of criminal harassment in connection with multiple incidents involving the non-consensual filming of strangers at public places across the Canadian city.
According to the Toronto Police Service, the accused has been identified as 45-year-old Mohamed Askar Mohamed-Razik. Police allege that he repeatedly approached individuals in public spaces and filmed them in a manner that caused fear, distress, and significant discomfort.
In a statement, police said Mohamed-Razik was taken into custody on December 10, 2025, and later appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 4, 2026.
Police detailed four separate incidents forming the basis of the charges. On June 8, 2025, a woman attending an event near Dundas Street West and Dufferin Street noticed a man filming her. When she asked him to stop, police said he became confrontational, continued harassing her, and refused to leave despite being instructed by security. The accused left the scene before officers arrived and no injuries were reported.
In another incident on August 21, 2025, at around 2:45 pm, the accused allegedly approached an employee of the Toronto Transit Commission at Union Station, filmed the individual without consent, and made harassing remarks related to their ethnicity.
A third case was reported on September 27, 2025, around 3 pm at David Pecaut Square, where police allege the accused approached a person waiting in line, continued filming despite repeated requests to stop, and became confrontational.
Police also cited an incident on May 26, 2025, when the accused allegedly approached a female police officer near Yonge Street and Shuter Street, filmed her, and made comments about her appearance.
Toronto Police have released an image of the accused, stating there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. Authorities have urged anyone with information related to the case to contact Toronto Police or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
The investigation remains ongoing. [KNT]
