CRPF launches month-long stitching & tailoring program for women in Srinagar

Srinagar, April 18, KNT: A one-month stitching and tailoring training program for women was launched in Abi-Guzar area of Srinagar by 132 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under its Civic Action Programme, aimed at promoting income generation and self-reliance.

The training programme, involving 15 women and girls from Abi-Guzar and adjoining Lal Chowk areas, was inaugurated on Saturday in Abi Guzar, according to an official press note.

The initiative is part of a human resource development effort focused on empowering women through skill-building activities in the region.

The programme was formally inaugurated by W R Josuah, Commandant of 132 Battalion CRPF, in the presence of CRPF personnel, local representatives, trainees, and residents of the area.

The training aims to equip participants with basic stitching and tailoring skills that can help them pursue livelihood opportunities and enhance financial independence.

During the event, Amir Ashraf, President of a local mosque, expressed gratitude to the CRPF for organizing the Programme in the locality. [KNT]
