Shopian Cold Store Blast Toll Rises to 2, Another Injured Under Treatment

Shopian, April 30, KNT: The death toll in the blast at a cold storage unit in the fruit mandi area of Aglar in south Kashmir’s Shopian district has risen to two, with another injured person succumbing to injuries at a hospital in Srinagar.

The incident occurred at Zum Zum cold store when a steamer being repaired exploded, injuring three engineers.

The injured were initially shifted to District Hospital Shopian, where one of them died, while the other two were referred for advanced treatment.

Officials said one of the injured later succumbed at a Srinagar hospital, taking the toll to two, while one person continues to remain under treatment.

The deceased have been identified as Saurabh Singh and Dileep Kumar, while Ram Kumar is undergoing treatment. All three are residents of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.

The trio was engaged in repair work at the facility when the explosion took place.
