Rural Development Dept suspends Layla Khalid pending probe into misconduct

Pulwama, March 18, KNT: The Directorate of Rural Development Kashmir on Wednesday placed Panchayat Inspector Mst. Layla Khalid, presently holding additional charge as Block Development Officer (BDO) Newa, under suspension pending an inquiry into alleged misconduct, according to an official order.

The order, issued by the Directorate, stated that the suspension takes immediate effect and that the officer will remain attached to the office of the Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Ganderbal, during the period of inquiry.

The move comes following allegations regarding her conduct, prompting authorities to initiate a formal probe to ascertain the facts.

As per the order, the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Pulwama has been assigned the additional charge of the BDO Newa post in addition to his existing duties until further orders.

Authorities have also directed that a detailed inquiry be conducted into the matter, with the ACD Pulwama tasked to submit a report along with recommendations to the Directorate within 15 days.

Officials said the action was taken as part of standard administrative procedure to ensure a fair and transparent investigation.
