PM Modi Pays Tribute to Pahalgam Attack Victims

New Delhi, April 22, KNT: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute to the victims of the April 22, 2025 Pahalgam attack, on its first anniversary.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the victims of the attack “will never be forgotten” and described the incident as a tragedy that continues to weigh on the nation’s conscience.

“Remembering the innocent lives lost in the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack on this day last year. They will never be forgotten. My thoughts are also with the bereaved families as they cope with this loss,” he said.

He added that the nation stands united in grief and determination. “As a nation, we stand united in grief and resolve. India will never bow to any form of terror. The heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed,” the Prime Minister said.

On April 22 last year, gunmen opened fire in the Baisaran Valley area of Pahalgam in south Kashmir, killing 26 people, mostly tourists, in one of the deadliest attacks targeting civilians in recent years.

The incident had triggered nationwide outrage and led to heightened security measures across Kashmir and subsequent closure of dozens of tourist destinations. [KNT]
