Srinagar, May 26, KNT: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday handed over regularisation orders to Contingent Paid Workers (CPWs) of the School Education Department, addressing what beneficiaries described as a long-pending issue.

The regularisation orders were distributed during a function held at the Civil Secretariat here.

Minister for School Education Sakina Itoo was present on the occasion along with senior officers of the administration and the School Education Department.

Among those present were Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, Special Secretary School Education Ghulam Rasool Mir, Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmed Wani and other officials of the concerned department.

The Chief Minister personally handed over the regularisation orders to CPWs belonging to Ganderbal and Bandipora districts.

Congratulating the employees, Omar Abdullah expressed hope that the beneficiaries would continue to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity and commitment.

He said the regularised employees should contribute towards strengthening the School Education Department and improving public service delivery.

The beneficiaries thanked the Chief Minister and the government for resolving their long-pending issue and providing them regularisation orders.

The move is expected to provide employment security to the workers and address concerns relating to their service status. [KNT]
