Wild Animal Mauls Man in South Kashmir’s Pampore

Pulwama, June 29 KNT: A labourer was injured after being attacked by a wild bear in the Bajnardi area of Khrew in Pampore on Monday morning.

The injured has been identified as Ghulam Jeelani Khari, son of Abdul Rehman Khari, a resident of Bajnardi, Khrew.

According to officials, the bear attacked the labourer during the early morning hours, leaving him injured. He was immediately shifted to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Khrew, where he received first aid before being referred to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, for specialized treatment.

The locals have urged the Wildlife Department to take appropriate measures to prevent further encounters between wild animals and villagers. [KNT]
