Jammu Districts Reel Under Heatwave as Pleasant Conditions Prevail in Kashmir

Srinagar/Jammu, April 26, KNT: Several districts of the Jammu region witnessed extreme heatwave conditions on Sunday, with temperatures crossing the 40-degree mark in Kathua, Samba, and adjoining areas, while Kashmir valley experienced a bright and comparatively mild sunny day.

According to available weather data, Kathua, Samba, and Chatha recorded temperatures above 40°C, indicating intense heatwave conditions across the plains of Jammu. Jammu city also recorded high temperatures, remaining close to the 40-degree mark.

In contrast, Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley recorded moderate temperatures under clear skies, with residents experiencing a pleasant sunny day.

Amid the sharp rise in temperatures in the Jammu region, the government issued an advisory for school students and the general public, urging them to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.

Authorities advised people to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak hours, stay hydrated, and follow safety guidelines to minimize health risks associated with the ongoing heatwave. [KNT]
