Srinagar, May 15, KNT: The National Testing Agency on Friday announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (NEET-UG) will be re-conducted on June 21 for affected candidates, amid continuing scrutiny over the integrity of competitive examinations in India.
In an official notice, the agency said candidates and parents should rely only on authorized communication channels for examination-related information and avoid misinformation circulating on social media platforms and unofficial websites.
“The National Testing Agency advises candidates and parents to rely only on its official communication channels for authentic updates and information related to the examination,” the notice said.
The agency said separate notifications regarding admit cards, examination cities, reporting time, and examination-day instructions would be issued later through official platforms.
The announcement comes against the backdrop of growing concern over irregularities in national-level examinations, including allegations related to paper leaks and procedural lapses in several recruitment and entrance tests across the country. The controversy surrounding examination transparency has triggered anxiety among students and parents and intensified demands for stricter safeguards in the conduct of high-stakes tests.
NEET-UG is India’s largest undergraduate medical entrance examination and serves as the gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical programs in government and private institutions nationwide. Millions of candidates appear in the examination every year, making it one of the country’s most closely watched academic events.
Students have meanwhile been advised to regularly monitor official announcements and avoid relying on unverified claims regarding the examination process. [KNT]
